Vesta's Village

Our Blueprint

Vesta's Village has a clear vision and we're building toward it with intention. This page offers a look into what we're creating — and where we are in the process of getting there.

Who We Serve

The Moms Who Get Left Out

Most resources out there will only help you if you fall below the poverty line. But that's not how we work.

There are countless single mothers who make too much to qualify for assistance — but not enough to actually get by. What is considered a livable wage for an adult and a child often isn't, especially in cities like Los Angeles.

These are moms who are skipping meals so their children can eat. Moms who are working hard and still struggling. Moms the system has decided don't need help — but they do.

"Vesta's Village exists for the moms who fall in the gap — too much to qualify, not enough to truly get by."

Our services are not gated by income thresholds. We are marked by lived experience — our founder's and the experiences of single mothers in our community — and we know that struggle doesn't always look like the system thinks it does.

The Long-Term Vision

The Village We're Building

A physical location designed specifically for single mothers and their children. A place rooted in safety, care, and opportunity — where mothers have what they need to focus on building stability for themselves and their families.

🏠

Housing

Safe, temporary housing designed specifically for mothers and their children — built with quality and comfort in mind. Families can bring up to 2 pets, because we know pets are family too, and every family deserves to stay together.

👶

24/7 Childcare

Safe, free, on-site childcare provided around the clock because many single moms work jobs that don't fit a 9-5, and having childcare shouldn't be a privilege.

📚

Classes & Workshops

Weekly classes covering financial literacy, budgeting, cooking, martial arts, breathwork, parenting, and more. Practical tools led by people who understand what these mothers actually need.

🤝

Community & Gathering Spaces

Shared spaces for meals, events, and community connection. Built for the village mentality — where neighbors become family and showing up for each other is just what we do.

💛

Support Services

Connections to mental health support, legal aid, and wraparound services that address the full picture of what a mother needs — not just the basics.

Membership

Our home becomes the village in membership form — providing access to classes, events, workshops, and community — so the village extends beyond those physically able to walk in.

❤️

Built With Moms, For Moms

This village will be shaped by the women it serves. The mothers in our community aren't just recipients of service — their voices, experiences, and needs directly inform how Vesta's Village is built and how it operates. That's not a feature. It's the foundation.

Where We Are & Where We're Going

The Phases

We believe in being transparent about where we are. Here's an honest look at the road ahead.

1
Now · Phase 1

Building the Foundation

We are building community, hosting events, connecting moms to resources, and creating visibility around the realities of single motherhood. We are learning directly from the moms in our community and making sure their voices shape everything we do.

Next · Phase 2

Growing Our Reach

Securing grant funding to launch regular classes and workshops. Establishing a physical home base — an office or storefront — where we can host classes, events, and begin providing the services that are at the heart of what Vesta's Village is meant to be.

The Long Game · Phase 3

The Village

A permanent physical location that brings everything to life — housing, childcare, classes, community spaces, and everything a mother needs to build a stable life for herself and her family.

Future Vision
"Empowering moms with the tools to do it on their own, and the village to support them along the way."
